Rocky Point also known as Puerto Peñasco which is a small City. It is a Municipality in the Mexican State of Sonora.

It is located on the Northern shores of the Sea of Cortez(Gulf Of California) on small strip of land which joins the Rest of Mexico with Baja California Peninsula. It is 62 miles or 100km from the Border with United States of Arizona.

The Mar de Cortes International Airport or Rocky Point Airport, is the Official Airport of Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico

Before you come here to Airport you must have get your Proper work which includes

• A letter that tells you are allowed to fly the Airplane in Mexico, If you do not own the Airplane you are Piloting or if your Plane is owned in a corporation
• Pilot License
• Medical Certificate
• Radio Operators License (Not compulsory)
• US CBP permit
• Airworthiness Certificate

Station

Rocky Point was having a Station on the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road.

This Abandoned station was Just east of Broadway between Prince Road and King Road.

It was Built in 1895.

By Road

A new Highway has shortens the Drive from California by 160 km or 100 miles.

If you are coming from Tucson To Rocky Point You should take Arizona Highway 86 or Ajo Highway for 118 miles until you get to the tiny Town of Why, Arizona after that head south on Arizona Highway 85. From here have to turn Mexico 8 Once You Cross the Border after that take South all the way To Puerto Penasco or Rocky Point.
